The following paraphrases a March 6, 2026 email from Kolin L. Perry, Assistant Curator of the Nevada Museum of Art, responding to questions about (1) the coloring of the bust, (2) the provenance reported above, and (3) the process of creation of the bust. Regarding coloring: Mr. Perry notes the "wear that is on the collarbone, left shoulder, neck." He states, "that wear appears as lighter areas." He notes also there the "darkening/greying in (most) other areas of the work," adding that he believes that darkening/greying "is just from age." He states: "Shortly after we [the Nevada Museum of Art] took possession of the bust, I [Kolin L. Perry] rubbed a tissue on it, thinking it had a layer of dust" but "nothing changed or came off onto the tissue," which he states led him "to believe the color variation is from natural aging and wear." Regarding the provenance reported above, Mr. Perry confirms that it is "correct." And regarding the creation of the bust, he notes: "The bust was most likely originally made of clay, then once [Elizabeth] 'finished' it a negative/mold was made by a plaster 'caster,' which was subsequently filled with plaster to arrive at the bust as we know it today."
